The National Park Mljet is situated on the west part of this, as many will say, most beautiful island on the Adriatic.

Two lakes with sea water which are connected with the sea by a channel is what makes it so special. The lakes are surrounded by the beautiful pine woods, untouched nature and crystal clear sea – and that says more than a 1000 words.Mljet has rich cultural heritage. On the Big Lake there is a small Island of St Marie with a Benedictine monastery on it.

Polače is known after an old Antique basilica as well as other cultural monuments.
